Question

The mass of 5 𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑟𝑒 of water is 5 𝑘𝑔. Find the density of water in gcm3 .

Open in App
Solution

Given,
Volume of water, V=5 litre=5000 cm3
(Since 1 litre=1000 cm3 )
And mass of the water, 𝑚 = 5 𝑘𝑔 = 5000 𝑔
(Since 1 𝑘𝑔 = 1000 𝑔)
Using formula of density,
Density(d)=mass(m)volume(V)
Density(d)=5000 g5000 cm3=1 gcm3
Hence, density(d)=1 gcm3
