Solution

The correct option is B 10.88N
Given:
The mass of the planet (Mp) = 2× the mass of the earth (Me)
The radius of the planet (Rp) = 3× the radius of the earth (Re)
The mass of the body m=5 kg
The gravitational acceleration of the earth is g=GMeR2e=9.8 m/s2

The gravitational acceleration of the earth is g=GMpR2p

gg=MpMe×R2eR2p=2×19=29
g=2g9=2×9.89=2.18 m/s2

The weight of the body of mass 5 kg on the planet will be W=m×g=5×2.18=10.88 N
