Question

The mass of an empty bucket of capacity 20 litres is 1.5 kg. Find the mass of the bucket when completely filled with a liquid of relative density of 0.9.

Open in App
Solution

density of liquid = 0.9×1000kg/m3
= 900 kg/m3
Volume of bucket = 20 litre
= 20×103m3
= 2×102m3
mass of water = 900×2×102=18kg
mass of bucket = 20kg
mass = 38kg
Volume = 2×102m3
density = 38192×102kgm3=1900kg/m3
