Given, mass of solid = 400g and volume of solid = 150 cm3. Therefore, density of solid=Mass of solidVolume of solid=400150=2.66 gcm3.

Now as the density of solid is more than the density of water so it will sink and the solid will displace water equal to its volume

Therefore, the volume of water displaced = volume of solid.

Density of water displaced =Mass of water displacedVolume of water displaced

Density of water = 1 gcm3.

1=Mass of water displaced150

Hence, the mass of water displaced = 150 g
