The maximum number of 40W tube lights connected in parallel which can safely run from a 240V supply with a 5A fuse is

(a) 5 (b) 15 (c) 20 (d) 30

Voltage = V = 240 V
Current = I = 5 A
Power of a tube = 40 W
First we calculate the total power by using the formula below:
Power = Voltage x Current
P = 240 x 5
P = 1200 W
So, total power = 1200 W
Now, one tube light has power of 40 W, so in order to calculate the number of tube lights that can be connected, we just simply divide the total power by the power of one tube light.
Number of tube lights = 1200/40 = 30
Hence, 30 tube lights can be connected.
