Given mean of $7, 9, x + 3, 12, 2 x - 1, 3$ is $9$
i.e., $\frac{7 + 9 + x + 3 + 12 + 2 x - 1 + 3}{6} = 9 \Rightarrow 3 x + 33 = 54 \Rightarrow 3 x = 21 \Rightarrow x = \frac{21}{3} = 7$
$∴$ value of $x = 7$
