Solution

The correct option is B 50 and 100
Let the number of boys and girls in the class be n1 and n2 respectively. Then
n1+n2=150
We have
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯X1 = Mean weight of boys = 70 kg
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯X2 = Mean weight of girls = 55 kg
¯¯¯¯¯X = Mean weight of all the students = 60 kg
¯¯¯¯¯X=n1¯¯¯¯¯¯¯X1+n2¯¯¯¯¯¯¯X2n1+n2
60=n1×70+n2×55n1+n2
60n1+60n2=70n1+55n2
10n1=5n22n1=n2
Hence there are 50 boys and 100 girls
