Mean weight of $6$ boys $= 48$ kg.
Let the weight of the $6$ th boy be a kg.
$\frac{50 + 45 + 50 + 42 + 40 + a}{6} = 48$
$=> 227 + a = 288 => a = 61$
weight of the $6$ th boy $= 61$ kg.
