The measure of central tendency which we'll reject when the data contains some extreme values, is the median.
False
When the data contains some extremely low or high values, we normally reject the mean as a measure of central tendency. This is because the mean gets affected even with a single extreme value.
For example, lets take the sample data of four observations - 1, 3, 4, 50. The mean of this data is 29. We can see the value of the mean deviates too much from the observations. This is because the data contains extremely low values - 1, 3, 4 and the extremely high value - 50.
