The median of a set of 15 observations is 30.5. If each of the largest 6 observations of the set is increased by 5, then the median of the new set of observations
Remains the same as that of the original set.
When the 15 observations are arranged in decreasing order, median of the set is the 8th observation. Median is 30.5 and it must be the 8th. Therefore, 6 largest observations must be the first 6 observations and even if each of them is increased by 5, they will not effect the 8th.
Therefore, median remains the same for the new set also.
