  2. There are various methods used for the measurement of distances between two points.

  4. For measuring the large distances, measuring tapes are used.
  5. For measuring very large distances such as the distance between a star and the earth, the height of a hill or the width of a river measuring tapes can not be used.
  6. To measure such very large distances we use the triangulation method.
  7. In the triangulation method minimum of two reference points are taken to find the distance of an object from a point.
