(1+x8, 1+x4)


Let the mid-point of the line segment AB be (a,b).

Given, cordinates of A are (2,x2) and coordinates of B are (x4,2).

We know that mid-point of the line joining two points A(x1,y1) and B(x2,y2) is given by (x1+x22,y1+y22)

Therefore, a=2+x42=8+x8=1+x8

Also, b=x2+22=x+44=1+x4

The coordinates of the required mid-point are (1+x8, 1+x4)
