Given, AP: 5, 7, 9, 11,…,165
Here, first term (a) = 5, common difference (d) = 7 – 5 = 2 and last term (l) = 165
Now, l = a + (n – 1)d
165=5+(n1)×2
1655=2(n1)
160=2(n1)
80+1=n
81=n
Thus, the total number of terms is 81.
Now, the middle term of the AP will be 81+12=822=41st term.
Thus, a41=a+(411)d
=5+(40×2)
=5+80
=85
Hence, the correct answer is option (2).
