Solution
The correct option is E The Tet Offensive
The Tet Offensive was a coordinated series of North Vietnamese and Viet Kong forces attacks on more than 100 cities and outposts in South Vietnam. The offence started on Jan 30, 1968, inflicting heavy casualties and damage, and disrupted the economy. Despite heavy casualties, North Vietnam achieved a strategic victory with the Tet Offensive, as the attacks marked a turning point in the Vietnam war and exposed great American vulnerabilities which led to the beginning of slow American withdrawal from the region.
