Solution

Instructions: Write about the different ideologies of the Moderates and the Radicals in terms of their medium of protest.

Solution: The Moderates and the Radicals did differ in terms of their ideologies. The Moderate Leaders, like Dadabhai Navroji, Surendranath Banerjee, and Gopalkrishna Gokhale, believed in acquiring political rights through constitutional means. The Moderates aimed to bring about an awareness about the unjust British rule. They gave speeches, published newspapers, and wrote articles. Their belief that the British respected their ideals of justice and freedom led to them adopting such moderate measures against them.

The Extremists, such as Lala Lajpat Rai, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, and Bipin Chandra Pal, argued for a self-reliant and constructive approach, as opposed to the Moderates. They argued that the British government had no good intentions, and that the people must fight for swaraj.
