The possible compounds for molecular formula C5H12O are pentanol and tert-butyl methyl ether. Pentanol can have 3 positional isomers whereas tert-butyl methyl ether does not show any position isomers.
The position isomers of pentanol are
1- pentanol, 2- pentanol and 3-pentanol.
