Arranging the incomes in ascending order we get : $R s . 7900, R s . 8000, R s . 8200, R s . 8500$ , $R s . 8600, R s . 9000, R s . 60000$

Number of observations $= 7$

Middle term, i.e., $4^{th}$ term in the data $= 8500$

Thus, the median income = ₹ 8500
