The monthly salary of a person is 15,000 and his monthly expenditure is 12,000. Find the ratio of salary to savings.

Step 1: Find the Savings

Given, monthly salary of the person = 15,000

monthly expenditure of the person = 12,000

monthly savings of the persons = 15,000-12,000=3,000

Step 2: Find the ratio

Ratio between salary to savings = 150003000

Step 2: Convert into simplest form

Divide numerator and denominator by the Highest Common Factor 3000.

Ratio between salary to savings = 15000÷30003000÷3000=31=3:1

Hence, the ratio of salary to savings is 3:1.
