The most prominent theory of the origin of the universe is the Big Bang Theory. The Big Bang Theory is the leading explanation about how the universe began. The best-supported theory of our universe’s origin pivots around an event known as the big bang. This theory arose from the observation that other galaxies are moving away from our own at great speed in all directions as if they had all been impelled by an ancient explosive force. Georges Le maître, a Belgian priest first suggested the Big Bang Theory. As the universe expanded, according to current scientific understanding, matter collected into clouds that began to condense and rotate, forming the forerunners of galaxies. While the majority of the astronomical community accepts the theory, there are some theorists who have alternative explanation besides the Big Bang Theory such as eternal inflation or an oscillating universe.
