Solution

Mangrove ecosystems have very different environmental conditions than those of freshwater bodies. This difference is in terms of the temperature of the water, the salinity, the pH, and the presence or absence of several ions and molecules. Fishes living in a freshwater ecosystem, like the murrel fish and rohu, cannot adapt themselves to such drastic changes in the environment and hence, cannot survive in mangrove ecosystems.
