The correct option is C Becomes zero For any conductor kept in the uniform electric field, the electric field lines configuration will be as shown in the figure.
As we know that conductor have free electrons so, in the presence of electric field, free electrons rearrange themselves in such a way that it cancel the effect of external electric field.
Therefore, the induced electric field line is directed from right to left. This cancel the effect of external electric field lines from left to right.
