  • For example -
    Na2CO3(aq.)+2HCl(aq.)2NaCl(aq.)+H2O(l)+CO2(g)
  • The substances that are present on the left side of the arrow ()in a chemical reaction and react with each other are known as Reactants. For example in the above reaction Na2CO3(aq.),HCl(aq.) are reactants.
  • The substances that are present on the right side of the arrow ()in a chemical reaction and are formed on the action of reactants are called Products. For example in the above reaction NaCl(aq.),H2O(l),CO2(g) are products.

Hence, The new substances formed due to chemical reactions are called Products.
