2x+3y-7=0


Find the line parallel to the given curve

Given, y2=x3

Differentiating with respect to x

2ydydx=3x2

At point 1,1

2(1)dydx=3(1)2

dydx=mt=32

mtmn=-1, where mt,mn are slopes of tangent and normal respectively

mn=-23

The slope of the line 2x+3y-7=0 is given as m=-23

So, as the slopes are equal the line 2x+3y-7=0 is parallel to the normal.

Hence, 2x+3y-7=0 is parallel to the normal, so, option B is the correct answer.
