The nucleus is a double membraned organelle containing the genetic material in a eukaryotic cell. It is the largest cell organelle. A nucleus when observed in a non-dividing phase shows the nuclear membrane, chromatin, nucleoplasm and the nucleolus. The nuclear membrane is bilayered with an outer and inner membrane.
