Number of girls $=720$

For finding their ratio we will divide number of boys from bumber of girls, i.e.

$\frac{\mathrm{Number}\mathrm{of}\mathrm{boys}}{\mathrm{Number}\mathrm{of}\mathrm{girls}}=\frac{480}{720}$

Simplifying them we get,

$\frac{\mathrm{Number}\mathrm{of}\mathrm{boys}}{\mathrm{Number}\mathrm{of}\mathrm{girls}}=\frac{2\times 10\times 24}{3\times 10\times 24}=\frac{2}{3}$ $[\because 480=2\times 10\times 24,720=3\times 10\times 24]$

Hence, the ratio of the number of boys to the number of girls $=$$2:3$
