The number of cars sold over a period of six months is shown below in the form of a pictograph.

Complete the above Pictograph and find the ratio of the number of cars sold in April to cars sold in June?

Step 1: Completing the pictograph

As given in the above pictograph, one figure of car represents 10 cars.

In the second row, Feb month has two and a half pictures of cars, So its value will become 2.5×10=25cars.

In the third row, March month has five pictures of cars, So its value will become 5×10=50cars.

In the fifth row, May month has three and a half pictures of cars, So its value will become 3.5×10=35cars.

In the sixth row, June month has a value equal to 40, So the number of figures of the car will be 40÷10=4.

So the required complete pictograph will be as shown below.

Step 2: Finding the required ratio.

From the above pictograph, we have

No. of cars sold in April =20cars

No. of cars sold in June =40cars

Required ratio =NumberofcarssoldinJuneNumberofcarssoldinApril

=2040=1:2

So, the required ratio is 1:2.
