Solution

The correct option is D n1>n2
Given:
θ1=0; θ2=30

We know that electric flux is given by

ϕ=E.A=EAcosθ = Number of electric field lines crossing given area perpendicularly

When A||E that means θ1=0

So,
ϕ1=EAcos0=EA

EAn1 ..........(1)

When E makes an angle of 30 with A

So,
ϕ2=EAcos30=0.87EA

0.87EAn2 ..........(2)

From eqs. (1) and (2),

n1>n2

Hence, option (b) is the correct answer.
