Let, wxyz be the four digit number. Where w, x, y, and z can take 0,1, 2, 3, 7, or 8.

For it to be a four digit number w cannot be 0. i.e w can be filled in 5 ways.

For it to be even z can only be 0, 2, or 8. i.e. z can be filled in 3 ways.

x, and y can be filled in 6 ways each.

So, the total number of four digit numbers that can be formed using 0,1, 2, 3, 7, or 8 is
5×6×6×3=540
