Number of 3 digit number divisible by 2=(999/2)-(99/2)=499-49=450
How many of these are "bad" and are divisible by 4 as well? Well, these would be those numbers which are divisible by 2 and by 4. In other words, the ones that are divisible by 4.
=999/4 -99/4
249-24=225
The number of three digit numbers that are divisible by 2 but not by 4 is 450-225=225
