Given f(x)=cosx+cos2x

f(x)=sinx2sin2x

f′′(x)=cosx2cos2x

For extremum value, put f(x)=0

sinx2sin2x=0
the above eqution can be satified by infinite number of values of x

At x=0,π,2π,3π......f′′(x)<0 (maximum)
hence option D is correct.
