  • It is not necessary to add the numbers to compare. We can ignore 8,000 as it is common in both numbers.
  • While comparing 1,269 and 1,276, we consider the comparison from left to right.
  • Here, in the two numbers, the digits at thousands and hundreds place are the same. We compare the two numbers using the digits at tens place because the digits at tens place of both numbers are different.
  • The digit at tens place is greater in 1,276 as compared to that in 1,269 as 7 is greater than 6.
So, 8,000 + 1,269 < 8,000 + 1,276.
