Open in App
Solution

Let the numerator be x and denominator be y,

then fraction will be x/y

x= y-3 ............(1)

ALSO

x/y+1 = x/y-1/15

putting x= y-3 from (1)

y-3/y+1=y-3/y-1/15

15y245y=14y245y+14y45

y214y+45=0

(y9)(y5)=0

y=9,y=5

when we solve the ans. coming will be y = 9 and y = 5

putting values of y in (1)

fraction is

6/9 and2/5
