The numerical value of α expressed per C is equal to ______ times numeric value expressed per F

Open in App
Solution

The coefficient of thermal expansion describes how the size of an object changes with a change in temperature per degree.
We know that 9C=5(F32)
Let the temperature in Celsius scale be C and in Fahrenheit be F
F1=9C5+32
Now when the Celsius scale is increase by 1 , so new temperature is C+1 So
F2=9(C+1)532
F2F1=95oF
For α in 0C is 9/5 times numeric value in Fahrenheit.
