Solution

The correct option is A True
  1. Ionization energy is the minimum energy that an electron in a gaseous atom or ion has to absorb to come out of the influence of the nucleus.
  2. The increasing order of first ionization energy is Na<Al<Mg<Si
  3. From left to right, the ionization energy increases.
  4. So the expected order is Na<Mg<Al<Si
  5. But in magnesium, a stable 3s configuration is present. Therefore, its ionization energy is greater than that of aluminium.
  6. Mg:1s22s22p63s2
  7. So the correct order is Na < Al < Mg < Si.

Hence the given statement is True.
