Availability of donor is an important requirement. In an organ transplantation, each person has a pair of a kidney, as the process of excretion can take place with the help of single kidney, the person can donate one kidney.
Skin from certain parts of the body can also be donated when the donor is alive.
However, other organs like liver, heart and eyes cannot be donated during a lifetime. These can be donated only after death.
