Value of VCE=10V

Current IC=4.0mA

Step 2: Formula used

The βac which is a current gain can be computed using the following formula:

βac=IcIbwhereβac=currentgain,Ic=outputcurrentandIb=inputcurrent

Step 3: Compute the βac

To determine the Ib, choose any two values of input current from the graph. We select IB1=20μA and IB2=30μA. So,

IB=30-20=10μA

And the corresponding output currents are IC1=3mA and IC2=4.5mA respectively. So,

IC=4.5-3=1.5mA

Therefore, the βac is,

βac=ICIB=1.5×10-310×10-6=150

Hence, the value of βac will be 150.
