Question

The pairs ¯¯¯a,¯¯b and ¯¯c,¯¯¯d each determine a plane. Then the planes are parallel if
(¯¯¯aׯ¯c)×(¯¯bׯ¯¯d)=¯¯¯02)(¯¯¯aׯ¯c).(¯¯bׯ¯¯d)=0
(¯¯¯aׯ¯b)×(¯¯cׯ¯¯d)=¯¯¯04)(¯¯¯aׯ¯b).(¯¯cׯ¯¯d)=0

Solution

Given,
¯¯¯a,¯¯band¯¯c,¯¯¯d are two planes, both are parallel to each other,
(¯¯¯aׯ¯b)and(¯¯cׯ¯¯d) are two vector products.
(¯¯¯aׯ¯b)×(¯¯cׯ¯¯d)=0 cross of two vector,
sinθ=0
so that, θ=0 the planes are parallel.
