The parallel sides of trapezium are 9 cm and 7 cm and its area is 48 cm2 then the distance between the parallel sides is _______

Given the parallel sides of trapezium are 9 cm and 7 cm.

Now, area of the trapezium is =12×(9+7)× the perpendicular distance between the parallel sides.

According to the problem,

12×(9+7)× the perpendicular distance between the parallel sides =48

or, The distance between the parallel sides =488=6.

So the distance between the parallel sides =6 cm.
