Let length of unknown side$=x$ m

Perimeter of fig. (i)$=24$ m

$\Rightarrow (x+5+6+8)$ m $=24$ m

$\Rightarrow x+19=24$

$\Rightarrow x=24-19=5$ m

Similarly,

Perimeter of fig. (ii)$=30$ cm

Let length of unknown side$=x$ cm

Perimeter of fig. (ii)$=30$ cm

$\Rightarrow (x+3+4+2+2+2+4+3)$ cm $=30$ cm

$\Rightarrow x+20=30$

$\Rightarrow x=30-20=10$ cm
