The correct option is A

12 cm


Let the length of the rectangle = “p” cms

Perimeter of a rectangle = 2 ( length + breadth )

Hence 2 (p + 8 ) = Perimeter of the given rectangle

Forming an equation:

2(p+8)=40

2p+16=40

2p=4016=24

p=242=12 cms
