Perimeter of 1st rectangle = 54 cm

Let length be l and breadth be b1.

l + b1 = 542 = 27

l = 27 - b1

Let breadth of the other rectangle be b2.

l × b2 = 44

Substituting the value of l we get :

(27 - b1) × b2 = 44

27b2 - b1b2 = 44

Since , the equation cannot help us find the value of b1 + b22
