The perimeter P of a rectangle is given by the formula, P=2(l+w), where l is the length and w is the width of the rectangle.

P=2(l+w)50=2×(15+w)50=2×15+2×w50=30+2w
Subtract 30 from both sides
5030=30+2w30

Divide both sides by 2
