The perimeter of a rectangular sheet is 100cm.

If the length is 35cm, find its breadth. Also, find the area.

Step 1. Calculate the breadth of the rectangle.

Let us consider that length and breadth of the rectangles are l and brespectively.

Perimeter=1002(l+b)=100l+b=5035+b=50l=35cmb=50-35b=15cm

Thus, the breadth of the rectangle is 15cm.

Step 2. Calculate the area of the rectangle.

Area=l×b=35×15=525cm2

Hence, the breadth is 15cm and the area of the rectangle is 525cm2.
