The perimeter of a rectangular swimming pool is 64m. If its length and breadth are in the ratio of 11 : 5, find the length of the pool (in metre).
30
Perimeter of swimming pool = 64m (Given)
We know that,
Perimeter = 2(length + breadth). Since length and breadth are given to be in the ratio 11:5, we can assume them to be 11x and 5x respectively.
i.e. length = 11x and breadth = 5x
Substituting these in the formula of perimeter, we get
64 = 2(11x + 5x)
32x = 64
x = 2
Length of the swimming pool
=11x=11×2=22m
