The perimeter of a square will be sum of all its 4 sides. Here the perimeter is 24 units. If the side of the square is s, then,
s+s+s+s=24
or, 4 times s is 24
=4s=24
=4s4=244
=s=6 units

So, the side of this square is 6 cm
Area of a square =s×s
Therefore, the area of the square will be =6×6=36 square unit.
