Let the breadth of the rectangle = x mNow, length of the rectangle = 14 mArea of rectangle = length × breadth = 14x m2Let the length of each side of square = s mperimeter of square = 48 m4s = 48s = 12Area of square = s2 = 122 = 144 m2Now, area of square - area of rectangle = 4 m2144 - 14x = 4-14x = -140x = 10So, breadth of the rectangle = 10 m
