The perimeter of a square is 56 m. The area of rectangle is 8 sq.m less than the area of the given square. If the length of the rectangle is 16 m, find its breadth.

Let the side of square be a
perimeter of square =4a
Given perimeter=56m
4a=56
a=14m
Area of square=(14m)2=196 sq.m
Area of rectangle=Area of square8
=1968=188 sq.m

Let the length of rectangle be l
breadth be b
Given l=16m
Area of rectangle=lb=188
16b=188
b=18816
b=474m
Breadth of rectangle=474m.
