The perimeter of each square in the given figure is 16 cm. Find the perimeter of the whole figure given below.

Perimeter of the square = 4 $\times$ side = 16
$\Rightarrow$ side = 4 cm.
Now, looking at the figure we can say that:
Length of the bigger rectangle = 5 $\times$ 4 cm = 20 cm
And Breadth of the bigger rectangle = 2 $\times$ 4 cm = 8 cm
$\therefore$ Perimeter of the bigger rectangle = 2 $\times$ ( Length + Breadth) = 2 $\times$ (20 + 8) = 56 cm.
