The correct option is C

1098 sq. cm


Let "x" and "y" be the length and width of the rectangle respectively.

From the first condition we have

2x + 2y = 158 x + y = 79.......(1)

From the second condition we have

x = 3y + 7 --------(2)

Substitute (2) in (1)

3y + 7 + y = 79

y = 18

From (1), x = 61

Area of the rectangle = length x breadth

= 61 x 18

= 1098 sq. cm
