Menstrual cycle:

  1. In a life cycle, a woman’s body is vulnerable to a variety of changes. The cycle of these changes occurring in women every month, positively for pregnancy is called the menstrual cycle.
  2. The menstrual cycle is divided into four phases, namely: The menstrual phase, follicular phase, ovulatory phase, and luteal phase.

Luteal Phase:

  1. The phase in the menstrual cycle in which the remnant of the follicle in the ovary turns to corpus luteum which produces the hormone progesterone that influences the thickening of the uterus.
  2. Uterus lining thickens further in readiness to receive the fertilized egg.
  3. The phase in the menstrual cycle in which the remnant of the follicle in the ovary turns to the corpus luteum is the luteal Phase.
